Technology Scotland announce appointment of new CEO
The Board of Technology Scotland are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Alastair McInroy as CEO of Technology Scotland. This follows the retirement of former CEO, Stephen Taylor, at the end of last year.
Alastair has been Senior Programme Manager at Technology Scotland since 2016, leading the organisation’s MaaS Scotland and Product Design Scotland networks and driving activity around last year’s vision paper for Scotland’s Photonics Sector.
As well as an intimate knowledge of Technology Scotland and its members, Alastair brings with him over 20 years’ experience working in technical and commercial roles across the UK’s Science and Technology sectors, from chemicals and infectious disease diagnostics to photonics and future mobility.
On his appointment, Alastair said, “Since joining Technology Scotland over three years ago I have seen the organisation evolve considerably, significantly growing its membership and influence. We have enjoyed great success in recent times, including our influential role in the creation of the Scottish Government’s £2m MaaS Investment Fund, the publication of our strategy paper for Scotland Photonics sector, and the launch of our newest network, Product Design Scotland.”
“The frameworks are in place on which to achieve further success across all our networks and I am excited to be leading the organisation during the next phase of its growth. I look forward to working with our members to achieve their own individual goals while supporting growth across the sector as a whole”.
